Is that a T6 next to your Jeep?? One of my former bosses is building one of them right now to accompany his Stearman that he built. I'll take a ride in that!
Then a ride in the Jeep of course. NICE build. I'm loving the glossy paint on the frame and axles, very clean.

The plane is a 41 ww2 At-6 texan, I'll just be getting the pcm flashed programmed, with a mail order type program to get it on the road and to a local tuning shop then had a custom tune made on the dyno. I'll most likely be using HPtuners to flash my pcm.

Your frame and axle coating looks great. Good luck with the build. I've got an LS1 powered GTO and couldn't imagine it with a turbo.

nice build! keep up the good work and don't worry about these turbo haters. they just don't know what they're talking about a turbo can be run off-road and will work just fine in water crossings if its setup correctly.

more pics of the texan please!! radial piston engines are freakin' awesome!

The frame was really starting to get in bad shape in the rear, the front half was just fine due to the major about of oil the previous Ford 5.0 and c6 tranny leaked regularly spraying every where. I sand blasted for about a day or two. Next I thinned gallon of tractor paint to make two gallons and put it on super heavy, I hate rust..... About the Ls1 you say its alot of power untill you get used to it and then you want more. I'm looking to make 500 - 525 at the crank easy, I'll be adding a Spek water/meth kit also

On the 4L60E the weak point is the sunshell gear, seen more then I can count let go destroying the trans. I would contact Aamco and find out who there parts supplier is for rebuild kits, they replaced it with a billet type sunshell, not saying have Aamco rebuild it but there parts supplier is a good one, and GM will still try to sell you the horrible stamped gear in there kits.

And the myth about turbo's being bad when water gets on them like the OP said they come on many off road/wet applications so it is definately a myth. Anyway if that were the case Cat converters would be trashed every time they it rained outside, it's the hottest part of the vehicle a chemical oven with some very brittle internals. So yea I wouldn't worry about the turbo.

And if you're on EFA or ls1tech, you already know about the guy near Aberdeen who does the 4L60e builds using 4L65 parts, like the sunshell.

Sounds like you did your research and have some LS1 experience. The factory LS1 PCM should do fine running that, but I predict you'll want more fuel pump depending on how much boost you'll see. It's common to need a dual 255 pump setup for LS1s making more than 500 on a turbo. Invest in a wideband O2 for permanant install to help tune and keep A/F surviveable.

I work for Propartsllc, Aka Spek Gauges so I know a thing or two about setting up turbo cars/ truck/ Suv's and Tuning. Walbro 255 is pretty solid untill around 525 or so depending on the injectors/Duty %/boost psi/ etc etc. Already have the Y plumed for the second pump down the road. I'm not worried about the tranny, blow it up and I'll go to a 4l80e off ebay pretty cheap. Already have the Lc-1 wired up, I'll post pics of the Trubo Hott side shortly.

Does anyone know of any LS powered Wranglers that are turbo in the World???? I have really been looking but cant find anything, If so I want to be the first !!

In for updates!!!

I keep blowing off oil changes in the 4.0 in ours so I have a reason to swap in an LQ4 lol.
I was seriously considering adding a single turbo too. Can't wait to see how yours turns out
