Lowrider Jeep or need new springs? 56k Gonna hate me
Well, i've had my jeep for about 5 months (6k miles). Tis my first jeep and i've honestly never ridden in another wrangler. So i assumed a roiugh ride was just "a jeep thing". Well last night, while tightening up my rear sway bar i noticed that my bumpstops were pretty much hovering above my perches. I'm pretty certain that this isn't normal.
So, is this a sign to upgrade? I dont have alot of money, and would like to do this right, yet cheap. There's no way i can afford Long Arms and i'm going to have to do what i can with the stock arms. Currently i am running 32" 11.5" Tires. I get nearly no rubbing when connected, but rub like a masseuse when disconnected. I'm also interested in getting a 1" body lift, 1" motor lift, and lifting my transfer case with a replacement homemade tummy tuck skid that just goes from frame to frame. Just to get my ground clearanges a little better. But that can wait. So to get 2-3.5 inches outta this thing, what needs to be done? I know i'll need new springs, prolly a trasfercase drop, an alignment... what else? Here's a summary of my plans with the lower half of the jeep. NOW: New springs (2-3.5" lift) Adventually: 1" Body lift 1" Motor Lift Home Made Tummy Tuck SYE kit What am i going to need to do the achieve my first goal? What are my necessities? Throw me some brands, idea, opinions, whatever you got. Here's some pictures of what's going on atm. Front view of rear drivers side. ![]() Rear view of same spring. ![]()

no there is definitly something wrong with that, maybe someone put bump stop extenders with a spring lift and then put the stock springs back in before selling it?
The bump stops look like they are way too far down for stock. 2" you can get with a Budget boost, 3.5 you will have to go with a full lift, and then you can start to kiss your cash goodbye. from what you are saying I would definitely say budget boost.

Passenger rear the same? Like 18to80DDC suggested, is there spacers above the bumpstop cups?

for a 3" lift you prob wont need a SYE but might, alot of ppl like Old Man Emu (OME) good, cheap kits, most kits are complete with springs and shocks, bump stop extensions, and TC drop,
you have full pics of jeep? so we can see wheel gap,

There was definately something added into this jeep. Now that i think of it, if the rear springs were that bad, the *** would be dragging along the ground. But there is no rake to the jeep. So, how do in take this crap out? I guess i'm going to need some spring compressors.

No spring compressors needed. Just get the frame as high as you can on jack stands and jack up one side of the axle. The spring on the other side should fall right out. You then insert the new spring, and voila. Repeat for the other side.

Sir, PLEASE post a picture of the whole jeep. I gotta see how low this thing is. Those are stock springs and look cut to me. Maybe they were cut intentionally to rid the jeep of the rake.

If they were cut they would be cut on the top, since it has the normal curve on the bottom, I can't see the top from the pics though.

Would it be easier if i were to remove the rear sway bar? I have 32" tires and no lift, so i wont get much articulation outta the rear.
