Loud muffler

After offroading the other day I noticed my muffler was dragging a little bit. When I looked closer it looked to have broken off a thin swivel. Now my muffler is loud as hell. Is that all that holds up the whole muffler and is that why it is so loud now? Or is there a lot more damage than I think haha.

I don't know what Swivel you are talking about, Pics would help. Sounds like to me with out seeing Pics is you have a hole in the muffler, or a bad exhaust leak.

Thin swivel as in an exhaust hanger? Sounds like the hanger ripped off the muffler and created a hole, as Mike just stated
