Now you need a soft top. Not many people wheel with a hardtop on because I think the back windows break frequently but don't quote me on that. Plus the soft top would look great. And like the guy a couple posts above said, you need to krylon fusion those fender flares and also the headlight bezels! Then the look would be complete.

Hey if you could, PM me with the info about those white wheels, they are unique and clean looking. I'm interested in purchasing some.

Your jeep is going to be sweet during the summer, wheeling and taking the doors off. Great job.

Great job. This was one of the first times that I didn't want to see any trail shots - everything was soooo clean

As always, a great thread with lots of great information.

I sincerely hope that you aren't 'done' with the jeep. I'd like to see more of these great threads to come.

that, and is anyone EVER done? The words DONE and TJ have never come out of my mouth in the same sentence.

That's an great looking jeep! Awesome job. I was going to say something about your flares also, but halfway down the page I see at least you armor-alled them or something. Looks great and thanks for all the info.

By the way, I'm also in need of some pinion seal instructions so if you do, X2 on the write-up.

Another option for the flares is to take them off. Then take a propane torch and lightly run the flame over them. It will turn them black again and they will look like brand new. I will post some pics if I can find them.

edit: pics

Yeah I believe he did too. Nice looking jeep and thanks for the essay man. I'm sure over the next 18 months I should find this useful as well. I'm doing exactly what you did, fixing the small stuff and saving up parts in the ole' garage. Man I can't wait for summer.

Camper -- I've been on the forum since '03 and yours are some of the best writeups I've ever seen. Awesome job for sure!

I have no idea how on earth you managed to get all of this done in ONE WEEK working alone in your garage all the while stopping to take pics. I just took a week to work on my rig as well and I probably accomplished about a fifth of what you got done. You must be one extremely determined individual.

thanks guys....

thanks for the kind words guys....I'm another one of those people who discovered how much fun it is to own a jeep....wish I had gotten involved before the florida property devolpers raped the land and put a fence around it. When I was 20 years old, there were lots of woods and orange groves. Then disney came. There's really not many places to ride around orlando anymore.

after so many compliments, I hate to say this....I don't like to use armor-all on plastic....I hate the grease stains when I lean against a tire or fender.

when I bought the jeep, it was greased up to look good....the stock jeep picture I posted was after I first brought it home and washed the armor-all off. So the fenders and top look fairly black in that picture.

the gray fenders are how it looks now without any attempt to make them dark....they have faded almost as gray as the coil springs and control arms in my suspension kit.

I may eventually paint them as suggested, but to tell the truth, it won't make the jeep any more capable or dependable....so I haven't really cared so far. I like the camo paint that was pictured a few replys up the thread....wonder how that would look with some gray and steel blue tones.

thanks again....I have a post just about ready for the Vanco brake kit I installed. And I've put a few skids on and replaced the ball joints. I took some pictures of that but they mostly came out crappy.
