Looking at a stock 04 TJ sport. Some questions.

It's been years since I bought mine. Seven to be exact.

Right now I have an Xterra and it's great for family stuff. I'm a single dad with two daughters who are very on the go. Space would be the biggest issue. There is of course a bit of space behind the rear seat. Has anyone relocated the seat brackets to make more leg room?

Also this TJ is in great condition. I mean great. 50,000 miles, hardtop, soft top, auto, cruise, ac. It's completely stock. I think I could get it for $12,000. KBB says it's worth $14,600. Great deal or am I just getting myself excited?

There would never be any plans to build it or wheel it. If there were I wouldn't even consider it. I have my built jeep and simply want a stocker to run around in.

Thoughts?

If your looking for more a bit more leg room and cargo space, then look for a LJ, you won't regret it

Agreed but this one with some serious low miles seems like a great deal. I could also be talking myself into it.

Misch Big Boy Brackets are what you want to move the seat back.

If you can get it for $12,000 I would say go for it and drive it awhile and see if it's what you want. If not sell it for what you have in it if it books that high and you won't be out of much if any and have some fun doing it. Good luck

Thanks! I'm surprised it gains that much space!

Sounds like a great deal to me for a TJ, like specialty8 said if you dont like it you could always sell it for what you bought it for. As far as space goes from an Xterra to a TJ you are defiantly going to notice its a lot smaller. Especially for trunk space. But it depends how much of a big deal that is to you. If you really want space defiantly go for a LJ or JKU

If you like it, buy it. I paid $8500 for my 03',one owner with 26,000 miles and $8,000 for my 03' with 56,000 miles. Both were mint condition and had never been off road. I lifted them and sold them for a good profit.

BloodThirsty, does that pic mean you bought it?
I came from an Xterra to a 04 TJ rubi last summer. The space thing is a big difference, if you have the back seat in. Pull the back seat and it's like an xterra without a back seat, space-wise (trunk storage). Back seat in, the TJ can't even hold a crock pot in the "trunk". I tried yesterday.
To resolve the space issue in a TJ, I also bought a crew cab long bed F350...

Yeah I bought it. Gonna be a big adjustment. Especially since I have two kids and need the back seat in at all times.
