Locker Question. Would This Be A Bad Idea?

I have been out with all the local guys wheeling, and im the only guy that keeps gettin stuck... I know I cant compare my lil jeep to there big chevys and fords, but still... I plan on putting a aussie locker in the front when I get back from school, would it be a bad idea to put one in the rear axle to? Right now in its current stock rear diff is 3.73's and a limited slip, and the front is stock and open judging by its poor abilities, I drive my jeep all year round threw mud, water, ice and lotsa snow, altho I do have dedicated winter tires for it, it gets more highway use then off road but when I do go offroad im in thick...

i ran an aussie front and rear for almost 4 years, on a daily driver... it takes some getting used to but it can be done just fine.

i recently went to a detroit when i regeared to 4:88's and perfer it over the rear aussie.

i still have the aussie in the front axle.

I'm pretty sure you will need an open carrier in the rear for any type of a lunchbox locker.

Having the rear D44 I would definitely lock that also... if not first!

Bingo..... forget the locker for the rear axle and just install the Aussie in the front axle.

i run an aussie up front and love it....the rear i have a selectable locker....you can run the auto in the rear, but many people have complaints on road handling.

The rear axle has a limited slip in it, correct? If yes, you will need to change carriers to install a locker of any type. This mean paying a professional to set your back lash. You won't have these issues with the front axle if you install a lunchbox locker, like an Aussie, because there is no limited slip.

I thought I recalled somebody making a lunchbox locker that fit the trac loc case.

The Powertrax No-Slip lunchbox locker comes in a version to fit inside a Tracloc carrier in a Dana 44.

So far as a lunchbox locker in the rear goes, I would ONLY go with a No-Slip so far as the rear goes. That's the only lunchbox locker that is well behaved enough when in the rear for a daily driver TJ. The Aussie and Lockrite are not well behaved when installed in the rear axle.

In the front, the Aussie and Lockrite are both fine, as would be the more expensive No-Slip.

One last note - if you're getting stuck because you're trying to follow full size rigs with 40s down deeply rutted trails etc.... the 31s are what's holding you back...

Then what your all saying is, no matter what I am going to the rear axle i will have to change my carrier... So in other words I would be kinda better off waiting until I have the coin and go with a good selectable rear locker so its still good on the streets durign regular use?
And the other trucks I go out with have the same size of tires within a couple inches, no one more then 32's
