Lift. Short Arm v.s. Long Arm - pros and cons

just curious as to the benefits and pitfalls of long arm vs short arm lifts. Im looking for about a 4" lift

I like to think of the 2 main advantages to long arm as being:

1. Axle articulation
2. Ride quality

The "break-over" point is arguable, I say anything greater than 3.5" should be long arm... many run stock geomtery control arm locations with 4" of lift also.
