Lift on a Rubi--Is it needed?

I know that this kind of thread must have been started before, but since I am a green horn here I hope you will forgive me for bringing it up again.

What is the thoughts of the "More" experienced riders feel about lifting a stock Rubi? How high, and which type, ie. brand etc.?

Thanks for helping a Green stick.
BAAM

The Rubi is the best out of the box off-road vehicle you can buy. The real question here is what do you want to do with it? The Stock Rubi has tons of "go" offroad due to the lockers front and rear and the D44 axles. Me personally I would do a 4-5" susp lift and 35" tires. This would then be an animal... so if you plan on doing deep water, Rocks, Mud, and general abuse to your rubi...I would lift it. If you are going to drive it to work everyday and go offroad once a month I would leave it be... My .02, HTH

I wheel my dailydriver Rubi just over once a month and I lifted. So it really depends what you want. I think it needed it, because there were obstacles I could not clear. Now that I'm 3" higher and on 33s I can go everywhere I want.

Thanks for your input on the lift.
I plan on lifting it 3'' for sure maybe 4'' but the whole top heavy thing begins...you know people talk about being top heavy and then when you go rock climbing you can roll. I like to rock but I don't like to roll!

I have so many other questions to ask...I hope you all are patient with me. (experienced riders whisper under their breath..."Darn rookies!") I know, I know but hey I don't want to be one of those guys who pretends to know it all and talk the talk and not be able to walk the walk. I gotta ask in order to know. Again, I hope you forgive me in the future for any stupid question I ask. Thank you all thus far for being very supportive to the green stick.

I wouldn't worry about tipping over a 4" lift... Also ask as many questions as you want...we are very friendly and try to help everyone out...
