Liberty or GC CRD Swap?

Does someone have a writeup or any knowledge on swappin a CRD out of a Libbey or Grand? It is I think the most cost efficent way of doin a diesel. Maybe someone can point me in the right direction. Yea I thought about a LS but kinda think a coal burnin Wrangler would be better And no I don't wanna attempt a 4BT swap.

Please do it, but don't think it will be cost efficient.

I'll point you in the direction I would go if I had the $.....check out Davey's he has a CRD for $3200 thats been wrecked. Perfect candidate for a transplant. I'd imagine you cou;dn't ask for a better situation than having two complete running vehicles.

I noticed a wrecked CRD online yesterday for like $3200. Looked rolled and top was chopped but low miles and ran good. Maybe you should start a build?
I think SkyHigh and I are on the same page. lol

Well this here is the plan. I go here and get me a whole Jeep and rip the guts out and part what I can.

www.erepairables.com

And go in the Jeep section and get somethin like this: http://erepairables.com/salvage-cars...e=SUV&vid=1038

Should make it a bit cheaper. Just lookin for some wisdom.

The one we listed would be an excellent donor! Finding a trashed TJ would not really be that hard.

I am thinking that transmission/transfer case would be the biggest hurdles.

Why not just put it in mine? I mean I already have 2 Jeeps. I would need to get a 3500 Ram to haul all 3 when I move next

Just reuse the one in the trashed Libbey, most of the ones I have seen have 42RLE/231 combo so no prob there. And my axles are gonna hold up alright cause they had D30 front and 8.25 rear.

EDIT: 545RFE was the one behind the CRD. What years did the Grands have CRD?

Mine are not trash

I just see no need to have a 2nd Wrangler, this is why I don't have a Just Kidding yet.

Well definetly need to find a wrecked 07-08 WK. Seems to have a very stout diesel in it compared to the libbey.
