Lange Hoist-A-Top Hard Top Remover

Has anyone used this product before. It uses a hoist to allow one person to remove a hard top...

Is it junk or does it work well?

I've been using that model for over 2 years now. Works great, very simple. I use it with a come-along. The hooks attach under the edge of the roof of the hard top, not the base, so there is no problem with the sides spreading apart over time.

The only complaints I have are minor. First, the rear lift glass must be open to use the rear hook. And second, you have to have it perfectly balanced, or else it hangs cockeyed.

I use one with a cheap Harbor Freight electric winch, works great 1-man operation.

Run your straps front to back w/2 anchor points=no spinning
Here's mine: under $60 it's the first album.

I bought my hardtop hoist (a 440 lber) from Harbor Freight for $59 flat (free shipping on orders over $50)

Can't beat it for running the 140 lb hardtop up and down.

For storage; I screwed 4 eye-bolts into the floor-beams above the garage; and ran 4 ratchet-straps down from them to hold the top. The hoist doesn't hold anything in the offseason...all it does it run the top up and down; once a year.
