nope, just the plain stock 5" backsapced moabs, they just barely rub at full lock.

Oh ok, yeah I noticed the tires didn't stick out much and I was curious. I think it'll look pretty awesome with spacers and 37's.

I still can't get over that other rubi you did, it's so damn nice. Makes me wanna do it to mine, but hell... I can't run 37's right now even if I had the clearance. Maybe on my next Jeep. I wouldn't mind an LJ rubicon.

I'm sorry but it doesn't look very good. It looks so hill-billy. IMO I think it would be more beneficial to save up for the proper kit or a new suspension lift. If I had a nice Rubicon like that, I wouldn't be cutting it up to fit the biggest tires on there. I know you are on a budget but dang.

It looks nicer in person, the camera pictures don't do it justice at all. I've seen a couple of jeeps around here and it's really surprising how it looks.

Believe me, I had that same thought in my head the first time I saw this. I was like, "damn, wtf is he doing?" But, he's really made a believer out of me. If you think that 04 looks "Hill-billy", then you can go ahead and paint a confederate flag on my hood, because I'm all for it.

the first thing that would happen to that $2000.00 (not including paint and installation) "correct kit" is it would get bashed in on the trail. a 6" suspension lift is ridiculous when the same tires fit and fuction the same under 2.5" without the high COG. very few people that own tj's use them for desert racing, we don't need oooodles of uptravel.

I'm sorry, some people spend waaay to much time polishing their fancy mall crawler. I live in the hills, it rains alot, and it's always dirty.
us hillbilly's won't be the ones on our lids or whinin about a scratch. I didn't buy a nice rubicon to look at. I'm sure when the racker gaurds go on there and cover the section the flare used to it won't look so hillbilly. the flares get hung up on obstacles anyhow it's been nice to have em up outta harms way as they are now, they won't get ripped off.

here's a nice scar the rubi got a couple weeks ago... that woulda been the end of those stinkin 2000$ fenders and special flares, i can get stock fenders for 50 bucks.

did you put any sort of trim on the edge of the hood where you cut? it looks like it is rather sharp

yeah, door trim.
i ran a flapper disc accross it so it's not sharp at all, tho had it slammed down on some fingers, they'd be gone.

Great work. The lo CG must make your rig a climbing Billy Goat! I like the flares up like that, heck I'd add mudflaps (talk about hillbilly). What tricks have you learned after doing a couple?

Do you think with this highline that narrow 33's would be possible with minimum or even no lift?

IDK about mudflaps! uhhhhg... lol.

33/12.5's fit easily, 35's will fit if ya don't mind a tight looking fit and another inch of bumpstops on the stock front suspension...

no real tricks other than there's no guessing as to how much metal to remove from the rear fender well for 35-37" tires... and forming takes patience or ya can end up with a nasty crease instead of a slightly noticeable one, another thing that can be done is to cut the front of the fender so it will go over the grill, then add bracing.

lol, don't drink beer! Dr. Pepper an I'm happy.
If ya want to do it I'll help if yer not gonna just sit there an watch! lol..
all ya need is some bolts to put the rear flares back on and a pack of 4 1/2" cuttoff wheels from harbor freight.. I do work cheap tho if ya wanna dump it off.
