it ended up with a bottle from a 82 chev pu. next to the master cyl. I also drilled it with a hole saw to put the rear washer pump in. I don't think I have a pic of that, I'll check later.

I saw another thread someone put it next to the dip stick on a bracket mounted off the motor mount if memory serves...

here's white99tj's pic and thread...

well, I found a few 97-98 ford winstar air boxes, I haven't looked at the explorer boxes yet, I've been told they are the same or similar.

I've got em shortened and ready to be installed.

I still haven't gotten around to making it a "cold air" from the cowl yet, tho I can say it got rid of the stinkin noise from the hacked off factory box and cone type filters...

u-pull-it special..

hacking it up...

fine tuning....

putting it back together..

Nice work, seen your posts on CL in portland.

I was going to comment on moving the evap canister, I have done the same thing to the rear and just removed the canister. That gave enough room for the 37s. You also cut more of the rear tub than I did, but I may cut more in the future as needed, none yet.

My 37s stuffed in the rear.

I did do tubes up front.

All on OME springs at the time. I have changed out springs now, so working out some new interference issues.

not trying to hijack.

sweet, highline those tube fenders, that'll give ya another 3.25", I could help ya trim the hood if ya want, I've done a few so it's pretty much nothing to me to start hacking it off with the grinder.

for the rear you could just trim the flares to get rid of the rub, or just move em up also. I cut out as much as I did to run 37's with 2" or less bumpstops in the rear and no body lift.

I'm actually planning to keep my evap can, just gonna move it between the rear diff and the t-case attatched to the tub.

I actually have enough room and up travel to not need to highline the tubes. They dont have a tube along the body line (for lack of a different term). The tire can go all the way up to the sheet metal. They also have a enlarged wheel well opening and allow for the 37s there with no issues.

I just took off my 4" springs and put the stock Rubicon springs in. I think I am going to run the jeep this way. Looks like everything will fit. I may need to trim the rear tub a bit.

As far as bumpstops, I ran stock bumpstops up front in the picture above. I dont plan on adding any front bumpstops. I need to modify the front track bar mount to not contact the diff cover. I will have that done soon.
Rear bumpstops are a extra 2" poly stops, that might change soon as well. Need to do some flexing with the new triangulation setup there and stock springs.
I may end up with a 1" BB front or rear to level it out. Cant remember now what way it needs to go.

Not trying to hijack your thread. I like the idea of free mods.

as for a pic, here are a couple

I guess these are poser shots.

another option i ran across... this is a 99 escort air box. same filter just a different air horn... in the pic I put the air horn off of a 98 winstar on the 99 escort to check the fitment still installed in the escort.. I've found in u-pull- it yards, hardly any of the rigs have a complete box so ya gotta search for parts to put together a complete unit..
