Kill switch installed, now starter won't turn

Installed kill switch, tied into starter motor wire. Used 14 gauge wires (about 10 feet to toggle switch and 10 feet back, if that matters) and used a toggle switch rated 10A 277VAC/ 20A 125VAC. Crimped 12 gauge ring terminals on the wires.

All installed and starter barely turns over, kind of like when the battery is really low. Redid starter wire back the way it was before and car started fine.

Going crazy trying to figure out why this happened. Anyone have any thoughts??

You actually spliced the switch into the wire connected to the starter? If so, carefully splice that wire back together and protect the splice so it doesn't give any problems. Instead, the kill switch should have been placed into the starter relay's primary side so the starter relay (located inside the Power Distribution Center) cannot energize when the kill switch is Off.

Getting Savvy...

When you have a choice, buy American.
