The stock filter element replacement is your best bet . Keep your factory air box

Exactly, the paper element breathes just fine. The K&N just lets in too much fine dust and silica particulates to make me happy. After installing two pre-filters on top of my K&N (a K&N Outerwears and a Unifilter oiled foam), I gave up messing with it and it now occupies shelf space in my garage.

Another vote for neither. When you hold a K&N to a light, you can clearly see tiny holes in the filter element. Thats doing wonders for dust filtration.

Keep the stock air box. The stock box is going to keep water from splashing on your filter and give you a higher water fording height.

Keep the stock air box (coming from someone who replaced it).
