Just came over from the dark side...

I have a 99 XJ (Cherokee) that I bought stock and lifted, wheeled, etc. Great rig and great fun. But I had been looking at Wranglers or as my kids call it a "Jeep jeep" for a long time. The reason I bought the XJ and not a TJ to begin with was at the time I had to pick up my kids (2 boys) from school everyday and thought it would be a pain getting them in and out, and not enough room, blah, blah. The cherokee rocks but you can't take the top off and experience the real "jeep thing".

I tend to ramble... Anyway today was THE day. I found an bone stock, 05 Sport with AC and cruise, soft top, full doors, fog lights, silver and only 18k miles. Immaculate. Just what I wanted.

The price? 16.5k The thing books at 21.4k. I think i got a smokin deal!

So I took it home and put my BFG 31's on my Ecco rims from the Cherokee, (looks sweet) and we are gonna take her out tomorrow and have some fun!

Plans include:
Lift for 33's and a 44 rear, bumper and winch, rear carrier shelf thingy over the spare carrier and more lights.

I will post some pics tomorrow night after our trip.

Anyone have any sage advice before I open up my checkbook?

This forum is great and has helped me tremendously in learning about XJ's and now TJ's..... let the mods begin!

I am not a spelling and grammar expert, nor do i play one on TV. Please excuse any errors.

Congrats on the TJ! I'm constantly "threading" my 4 year old through the roll bar in the back and standing on the rear bumper to secure his seat belt. Yeah, it's a little more difficult getting the kid in but well worth the effort.

It would not go places my XJ will, but we are gonna fix that!

(Guess I am gonna have to change my username. I do plan on keeping the XJ though.)
