Just Bought Another Wrangler & Already Having Issues..

Well as you can tell by my name I use to have a 97 tj back in the day.. Last night I purchased another Jeep after thinkin bout my old one for 5 years. I picked up a 02 Sport 80k auto tranny. Once paying for the Jeep I started down the road and a hour down the road, I stopped to get gas and had the first of a set of problems.. Im gonna list them below..

First Problem: Oil light came on once I started the Jeep at idle along with the "check Gauges light" it was reading 0 psi until I gave it gas and started down the road then the psi's returned to around 40 and ran fine.. (today I changed the Oil Sending unit and after about 100) starts it seems to be fine)

Second Problem: Once every Five starts the starter wouldnt engage. No click nothing, I could turn the key 20 times with nothing, I finally put it in neutral and i fired right up. ( I changed the Neutral Safety switch and it seems fine again after 5 or so starts)

Third Problem: Once the Jeep is warmed up it almost sounds as if its a diesel. I cant tell where its coming from almost sounds as if the oil pump is making the noise.. Its faint when cold but once its warm you can hear it very good. Its not a rod, lifters or anything I cant trace it. I did a oil change last night including 10w30 GTX High Mileage oil, Napa Gold Filter, STP treatment, Engine Restore... The oil was absolutely filthy, so i added a bottle of engine flush before the change.. ( So what is the noise im hearing I have searched the site and cant find anything)

Also did a tranny flush today with new filter and gaskets.. Shifts good now I was worried due to the fluid being absolutely nasty..

I know its alot of reading but problem number three is killin me.. Please help

not really maybe is a little louder, the oil hadnt been changed in like 7 months per the old owner.. Im thinkin bout drainin the oil after about 1000 miles or so and putting a lighter weight oil in. I had a mechanic listen to it and he cant seem to offer any info, other then his wifes grand cherokee does the same thing just not as loud.

If you're careful and don't run it long you can take the fan belt off and get a recording without the fan noise. Just don't run it too long.

not sure on what the "diesel" noise is....i know sometimes the 4.0s just make some engine noise, but FWIW, i'd change the diff fluids too.

needing a new rig....

X2 beat me to it, but I believe there is some lifter/valve noise also.
