johnny joint on a RC adj. trackbar

has anyone successfully put a johnny joint on a Rough Country adjustable trackbar?(frame end) the johnny joint would have to replace a moog es3096L
Maybe there are engineering issues? Somebody ever try it? if you did try it what JJ did you use?

The treading is different. IIRC the RC bar end is threaded to 7/8 18tpi and Currie's small joint ends are 7/8 14tpi. The RC bar still would have horrible bends in it...

I've had that RC track bar that uses a tie rod on the frame side. It works to center you axle, that's about it. It has horrible bends and would make contact with my diff cover when flexing. That, and on my jeep, that tie rod on the frame side would only last about 1 year. I got tired of constantly checking my old RC lift for worn out parts. Don't get me wrong, I still check my suspension now, but I'm no longer replacing worn out parts on a routine basis.

I cheap out on some parts!
I got under $100 in all 4 of my re 3.5" spings iirc.
i got $80 in a complete zj steering system.
the track bar aint one of them you can cheap out on.
The fit is critical, and only a select few fit well sadly.

Making a johhny joint fit on a factory bar aint a bad idea, they fit very well!
or even putting a heim on a factory bar aint a bad idea.

Otherwise, curie, metal cloak, and jks are the only ones i have seen proof that they "usually" fit pretty well.
Many claim their brand x track bars fit fine, no one can ever prove it.

Im running a currie, it clears easily with 2" bump stop extensions.
With some work i could probably get that to 1"

The jks is very similar to the currie.

The metal cloak has better clearance than my currie.
it is a ton cheaper also. If you dont mind a heim, its a great option.

Many prefer curries jj to cloaks heim.
everyone prefers cloaks price to curries price.

The re on my first jeep hit the diff hard enough to break it at the heim, with 3" bump stops.
I was lucky there was nothing around to crash into when it broke.
Steering input was about nill.

I went with the JKS adj. Trackbar. Steering is rock solid. Only gripe I have is the bolt they included for the axle side doesn't have a long enough smooth part on the shank to go through both parts of the bracket. The threads would rub against the back side and would cause problems down the road. Luckily I had one the fit correctly. Anyway besides that... seems like a very good trackbar.
