JKS quicker disco's

hey guys i got some new JKS quicker disco's, and they work great but when i disco them to wheel, i usually just wrap them up with some velcro i have them wrap the swaybar up and outta the way, but the discos came with some mounts to hold them up w/ the pin, i just don't know where to mount them, ive already tried two places....i drilled hole into the front of the frame close to where the bumper is (kind of) but when i put them there and pin the disco to them, i tested them on my porch and the tire will rub and destroy themselves.....so i have two questions, where do you guys mount your discos when they're disconnected?(pics please) and after drilling the two holes in my frame (5/16) will it be ok??

thanks,

John

I have JKS' on my '98 TJ's with 33's on one 35's on the other and had them on the '01 TJ, with 33's, before that. Never had a rubbing issue with the discos when stored. My off the wall guess would be the width of the 10.50 Swampers with not enough back spacing on the wheels. Pictures would help to see where you actually put storage pins too.

The holes shouldn't be a problem as long as you treat the drilled area to prevent rust.

I'll run out and get pics of mine after the game.

Wow, what a game. And now, back to the Jeeps:

Here's where the mounts are on my TJ with 33's and a 3" lift, driver's side and then passenger side, no rubs...

btw, those cables are metal fishing leaders, loop them around the disco and the pin, no more lost pins...

I originally had mine mounted about the same place as StvDiego, but my tires rubbed the antisway bar. I move the mounts back to bring the antisway bar up a little, and they still rubbed. I finally just took the mounts off and now I zip tie everything up to the hood latch brace. No more rubbing.

i guess maybe my backspacing is wrong or something b/c i tried to mount mine right where yours are, but they rub pretty bad on a real good flex and tires turned to full each way.....that welding is a great idea better than bolting i think....i guess til i get the correct backspacing i will just ziptie them....right now i have 32x10.50 on some 15x8 rock crawlers...whats the backspacing suppose to be....and i'm upgrading to 33x12.50 soon what should it be on them??

thanks,
john
