what did any of you use for spacers between the transfer case skid and mount if u had this problem, please tell the size spacer also thanks. I cant afford a tummy tuck right now, i know that would fix it. It will be coming soon. thanks

well my stick shift hits the shifter bezel and the 4wd transfer case shifter is tilted back some. they should both go away with some spacers and definelty with a belly up skid plate. The body lift was not too bad to do. The mml was a major pain in the a**. Its definetly a two person job. It was pretty bad and i work at a dodge dealership as a mechanics apprentice. It took me longer to do the mml than to pull a trans on anything.

no...it says if you are doing the bl and mml at the same time it is not neccesary. i just need to adjust that tomorrow. Noone has done tcase spacers to correct shifter in bezel?

Pull off the bezel, cut the rear part of the lower boot, get a dremel, and trim the tub... it will fix the shifter hitting.

As for the tcase shifter... you're going to have to install that bracket. I still have yet to do mine, but I couldn't adjust the linkage enough to make any difference.

i would rather not cut and use spacers on the trans mount because i know thats all that is needed. Did you do a mml?

Not to interrupt but none of this makes sense. Everything I have read says thatr if you do the MML AND the BL at the same time you won't have these issues. Anyone else have these problems after installing BOTH the BL & MML??

I've never heard of anyone installing TC spacers to fix the issue you are describing, to be honest I would think installing TC spacers would be make it worse (that is if I am understanding what you are talking about correctly). You need to do what whiteguyjames has suggested to correct your problem. You dont necessarily have to do the TC bracket though, theres no reason if you arent having any TC shifter problems, I know I never had to install any bracket or adjust any linkage when I did my BL and MML.

EDIT: to jrb470, I did both at the same time, TC shifter works flawlessly with no adjusting, but 2nd, 4th, reverse are a tad bit tight. Its only really a problem for me when its cold out and my shifter boot is stiff, so I never bothered with it.

well i think its a little tighter for 2 4 6 and r for me because mines an 06 its setup alot differently. what im saying makes perfect sense. bring the rear of the trans up by putting in a spacer between the transfer case skid and the mount, it would replicate a tummy tuck. there is no way it would make it worse, by bringing the rear of the trans up it would keep the shifter from hitting the bezel by pushing the shifter slightly foward

sounds good ill post what i figure out tomorrow im gonna make some spacers at different length's and use the lock rings that cars come with from the factory to hold the rotors on to keep the spacers up on the 4 studs for the mount while i put the skid up

When I did my BL/MML my shifter hit my console on my 05 Rubi. I pulled all the bolts/screws from the console and pulled it up away from the floor of the Jeep and inch or two. I then took my dremel and made all the holes longer. I took them from round to oval shaped. This allowed me to adjust where I wanted my console. I put all the fasteners back in loosely. Then I pulled the console back all the way in the elongated holes and tightened them down. It's been that way for over a year now and I've had no problems.

FYI...I probably enlarged the holes by 1/4" to 3/8"

Okay see I thought you were just talking about dropping the transfer case down. If you do what you are going to throw off your driveline angles though and might experience some vibes. I still suggest just cutting the tub a little or moving the console back a little, those are the solutions that it seems everyone chooses
