So turned as in starting... I see now. I will for sure test that out tomorrow. So if it doesn't read 12 volts then my problem is the ignition switch?

so basically, if you jump the small wire to the big red positive wire and it doesnt crank your starter is bad.

right if the small wire does not indicate power when the key is turned, you will have to look at the signal side of things.

Well I can test that out by myself, with the key left in the on position. Correct?

if the key is in the on position it will start and run. if in the off position it will crank. make sure you are in neutral.

Ok, I will do that right now. The only wire I have here is 10 foot jump cables though, so hopefully the clamps fit in that small space

also bring a screwdriver, pop the cap off the positive cable at the starter and then you could probably jump it with a screwdriver.

I got nothing but very minimal sparks.
I did hear a sound every 10 seconds or so, it sounds like a cat scratching a couch. (This is when the key was in the on position and I was under the Jeep messing with the starter)

Just to make sure I did it right...
I tried to jump the top left one in this picture with the right one.

So would that be the bottom left stud? It looks black but could be due to dirt and such.

Is there a negative wire on this?
