jeep wont crank after man to auto swap- need help

As the title I just completed a transmission swap from a AX15 to a 32RH. I went to start it yesterday and got to power to the starter in the "start" position. I have jumped the nuetral safety switch and still no luck.

It will start if i jump the two connections on the starter.

I was thinking it could be related to the ignition switch on the steering column??

Any ideas would be great!

this is a 97 4.0L sport

Could be since the manual doesn't have a NSS or auto comp to worry about.

I think you need to jump the clutch pedal switch, or I believe you can add a fuse to override that

No fuse to add on a 97.
There is an auxiliary plug under the dash to bypass the clutch interlock...
