When installing a suspension lift (2-3 inches max), does this void the jeep powertrain waranty? I just purchaced a 2004 wrangle sport and after I joined this forum, I all of a sudden wanted to start customizing it. Has anyone had to deal with jeep for waranty work after they installed a lift?

They won't warranty anything that you've replaced (springs, shocks, whatever), obviously, and they could deny coverage on anything else that the lift could contribute to, such as, but not limited to, the driveshafts u-joints, xfer case, diffs, etc.

No, it will not void the warrenty. Although many dealers will lie to you and try to weasle out of it.
They obviously do not warrenty the aftermarket equipment that is installed, and they can refuse warrently if the mod actually caused the failure.
Other than that, it should be fine.
I have mine lifted and have had a ridiculous amount of warrenty work done to it and items replaced. Starters, driveshafts, transmission mounts, cracked plastic windows, an entire D35 rear end, radiators, manifold, et et et.

You have an exceptional dealer.
All the driveline stuff that you've had replaced, such as transmission mounts, driveshafts (especiall!), the D35 rear end, etc., couple easily not have been replaced, and more than likely would have held up in a appeal.

Most stealerships round here tell me that if I lift her then it'll void my warranty.Of course I could fight this if I did the lift and the part that needed replaced has nothing to do with the lift. I'm just leaving her at stock height for now, just don't feel like argueing with the morons up there.

Ah, heck just go ahead and lift it. Part of the Jeeping experience is fixing things after they break on you. Just starts getting expensive afterwhile.

Some dealers will install the lift for you!
I would have a hard time thinking that if my dealer who if I paid to install the lift would turn around and not honor the warranty on the suspension for no good reason.
