Jeep TJ Hardtop Rear window replacement

Alright well first let me just say I am still semi new to Jeepforum, so I was not really sure where to post this, so sorry if this is the wrong area.

Anyhow I have a 2000 Jeep wrangler SE, when I bought it all it came with was a soft top, which was fine.. though after a couple off road sessions where it was caked in mud and sitting in 200 degree parking lots, and just general beatings it started to tear and fall apart. Anyway I got word that someone in my city was moving and planned on giving away there hardtop, so naturally I ran over and picked it up.

Now here is the part that matters. The hardtop is clearly a TJ hardtop and it fits my jeep perfectly, BUT there is no rear window because the original had shattered or something to that effect, I am not sure because it was that way when I got it. Anyhow I need the replacement glass for it, but there are two or three things I am not sure of.

1. Its a lift gate (The hard top had the little hydrolic poles and everything), meaning the glass lifts up and down, meaning it has to have something to click into, but my jeep tailgate is just flat metal.. what does the window click into? (Hopefully that made any sense)
2. There are replacement windows that look IDENTICAL but either for 97-02 model years or 03-06.. whats the difference?
3. I have no idea if the hardtop is aftermarket or what, I also have no idea what years its suppose to fit, though keep in mind it perfectly fits my 2000 wrangler.

Sorry about how long this post is, hopefully someone can make sense of it all and help me out.

Also below is a link to an album with about 8 pictures of the hardtop on the jeep

The tailgate holds the rear window shut.

That looks a 1997-2002 top (side vents)...

Definitely a 97-02 top

here is the glass you need. There will be some other things possible the bottom liftgate seal, the lift pistons and a wiring kit if you want to use the defrost and wiper.

Liftgate seal

So I just bought a 2000 with a hardtop, and it is missing the seal in between the liftgate and the tailgate. The glass has glue residue on both sides from what I believe was the metal carrier for the weather stripping. Do I need a new glass as well or is there an easier fix for this? I was looking at the same website drewtj05 suggested but i wanted to make sure it came with the bottom seal.

Thanks all

Yep you need that piece that holds the weatherstripping but I don't believe you can purchase one of those separately?I've never heard of anyone buying that piece alone or any manufacturer selling one?

I beleive this is what you are looking for Jeep Liftgate Seal. Don't bother with the dealership as they charge like 150 bucks for this piece.

Use the stealership as a last resort. They are way overpriced and try to sell you crap you don't even need.
