JB Shorty SYE vs Regular AA SYE
Is there a significant advantage the shorty JB SYE has over the AA SYE? Does it in anyway justify the additional cost? I'm assuming the difficulty of installation is similar.

Depends on what amount of lift or tummy tuck you plan on doing. You get better angles with the JB SS which was worth it to me. I believe for 4" of lift and under the AA would be fine but anything more and you're better off with the SS.

Well I'm doing the RE 4.5" SF SA lift with 35" tires. A tummy tucker is in the plan eventually.

Sounds like you answered your own question, go for the JB SS.

Don't quote me, but without looking it up I believe the JB is about 4" shorter than the AA. That allows you to run a longer driveshaft. And also since the dshaft will be longer that means that the angle the shaft is at is going to be less as well. I can't see where it would matter what kind of lift you have that you use this setup. I also think that it is about 100 bucks or so more than the AA. IMO by doing the JB you would add life to any shaft that you buy and probably in the long run would be worth doing over the AA.

Don't quote me either but I'm pretty sure it's just 2.5" shorter, but it's still shorter therefore you gain a longer shaft. From some of the write ups I've read you gain roughly 2" of driveshaft length. I ended up needing a 19" shaft with the JB SS and RE 5.5" LA with a D44 rear and NV3550. Maybe it's on rockcrawler.com where the guy swapped from the AA SYE to the JB SS and gained 2" of shaft. Again the whole point of getting a longer shaft means you have a lesser degree angle of your driveline which is good, very good.

I had an issue with being able to obtain the JB Super Short quick enough for a repair to get my TJ back on the road and ended up going with the AA HD. If I had it to do over again I would go with the JB Conversions.
I would go with JB for sure if you have an auto tranny & D44 Rear since that setup gives you a very short rear shaft.

Yeah it took me over a month to get mine, but I ordered at Xmas time as with a few other parts that were also on backorder. I will never order anything in the month of December hoping to have it for Xmas, it doesn't work out too well. To think about everything I've ordered in the past year I'd have to say the winch and a few piddly items from Quadratec were the only items I didn't have any issues with backordering or missing parts.
