Story (optional):
I bought my Jeep new February 1997. It was my daily driver and weekend warrior until 2009 when I bought a 1988 Porsche to split daily driver duty. I have modified, wheeled and loved my Jeep for the last fifteen years. I was recently in a pretty bad wreck. It recently came out of the body shop with the fenders lined, and the hood repainted. With these last cosmetic modifications done I figured I would enter it in the TJ of the month contest.

I had a 03 Rubicon before I realized I need something I wont beat up. I sold that to get a reliable cheap DD (Subaru) and had bought this TJ completely stock. I wheel it like a jeep with 35's and not afraid of a little body damage here and there. It is the start of a fun trail rig and this thing will get wheeled hard and have a great time doing it!

Jeep: 2003 Jeep Wrangler TJR

I have been wheeling Jeeps since I was fourteen (1993) and owned a TJ since July 1997 (97 TJ Sport). I built my first TJ starting July 1997 and have been Jeepin ever since. I have been building my Rubicon since February 2003 and through all the headaches I am overall very pleased with my look and performance from my rig. I built my rig to do moderate to slightly extreme wheeling (mostly rocks/trail use and for winter conditions) but expect her to drive better than stock even when I get off the trail 12 hours down the road.

I am going for a close to stock look only large with all the parts changed to handle the increase in size, upgrades listed below.

Story:
Back in August 2010, right as I was starting my freshman year of college, my dad purchased this salvaged 2006 Unlimited for me. I spent the next 6 months rebuilding it from the ground up. It needed quite a bit of work, including: front axle, fenders, hood, transmission, transfer case, windshield frame, right rear quarter panel and a ton of body work. Once finishing the necessary work, I had my dad, who is a professional painter, spray it Flame Red. In February of this year I finally finished the rebuild, and it then took over daily driver duties. Although I am a full-time college student, I spend most of my free time working to buy parts for the Jeep. First came the full MetalCloak armor system, followed shortly by a RC 2.5” X-series lift. My build really took off after I installed a UCF Ultra High-Clearance TC/engine skid and swapped in Rubicon Dana 44s and a NP241 transfer case. Most recently I finished completely redoing my suspension set-up, replacing most of my old, crappy Rough Country stuff with Currie, Clayton, and Rock Krawler products.

I have been doing a mod here and a mod there over the years. When I rolled it wheeling and it gave me a great opportunity to do the half top transformation and many other upgrades. Obviously it's not over yet as a Jeeper's mods are never done. 35's and tire carrier above tonneau coming soon.
