Its rainy season in the NW

and that means that my Jeep will have wet carpet and mildew/ mold for the next 5 months, because I can't seem to figure out where water is getting into the cab. It never is in the front, but the back cargo area and backseat floor are usually soaked after a good rain.

Is is possible for the hardtop to be leaking (it has those vents towards the back?) Should I replace the weatherstrip? Could it be coming from where the rear glass and tailgate meet?

Just looking for some advice on how to trouble shoot this, mostly.

Thanks.

Rich

Does this happen while driving or just sitting? If it's sitting get a garden hose and spray the top and watch inside (you might get a friend to help so you can sit inside and look)

My 98 Wrangler Tj does the same thing when it rains. Mine does it on the passanger door side. I live just east of Vancouver so I know what you mean about the weather

Mine leaks alot around the rear window and especially where the rear window meets the tailgate. I would try the hose trick and order up some weatherstrip!

You know I have the same problem with my tj and hard top. I'm pretty sure its coming from where the window and tailgate meet. I'll get some new weather stripping but for now I'm taking some 100mph tape (duct tape) to it. Hopefully that fixes it. My wife has about had it with my rig but I have put too much money and fun in to it to get rid of her.
