Installing gears and need help picking traction adders for a DD TJ

I am going to be installing 4.56's in about 3 weeks front and rear in my 2001TJ D30/D44 and am trying to stay somewhat on a budget. I am trying to decide if I should go whith one of four set-ups. It is my DD and I am going with 33" tires no bigger on a short arm lift and dont plan on doing anything crazy but want the benifits of greater traction to help with the Colorado trails.
1. True-trac's front and rear
2. Powertrax no-slip rear / Truetrac front
3. Auburn ECTED Rear / open front for now with an Aussie later
4. Auburn ECTED Front and stock Tracloc rear
5. SOME OTHER RESONABLY PRICED SET UP THAT IS SUGGESTED

I would do the Ected in the front and leave the rear for now. That way you have a good selectable locker in the front, a lsd in the rear and then later you can add a locker to the rear. Personally I put an Aussie in the front and a Trutrac in the rear but I have a 35.

i don΄t like teh ected. a freind had many problems with it.

2 truetracs are a good chioce for a daily driver.

if you have the money go with 2 selectable ARB lockers.

i have 2 ARBs, a friend has 2 truetracs. with deactivated ARBs in my jeep he can do much more than i do. but with only the activated rear ARB my TJ is better in deep mud than his jeep with the truetracs. forgot to say that we both habve nearly the same setups and the same tires.

I sent with TrueTrac up front and an ARB in back, love the combination. If you weren't where it snows I'd say do a autolocker in back and a TrueTrac up front to save a buck, but after trying driving with the ARB locked this winter I'd say no way.

If i can get a good enough deal on the parts I may be ablr to do an Auburn ECTED Rear and Truetrac front I supose I hadnt really thought about that combo. But the ARB is out because of price for the locker and the compressor I could just about get the ECTED, Truetrac and Diff protection

I run a Aussie up front and a Truetrac rear. I went that way since I tend to lift a tire in front a lot more than the rear offroad. The Truetrac out back also works well being my daily driver.

I hope you realize that your TJ can have a front automatic locker without having any issues in 2wd. It looks like you may believe your TJ can't run a front locker without steering problems, which is not the case with a TJ.

What type of wheeling do you do? Do you require 4x4 on paved roads in the winter when (if) your local roads are iced up or covered with snow? When you go wheeling, is the trail uneven enough that you lift a tire up off the ground? Would you like front and rear lockers but are afraid to have one in the front for steering issues you may have read about?

I do realize that I could use a lunchbox type locker up front. I am really just getting ready to start my second season of true Wheeling. I am in colorado so I do use 4wd on the street on occation but not real often. I have ocationally lifted a wheel or two but it isnt like all of the time. or multiple times on each trail. I truely would like to have more than I need then be underprepaired. ya know. All help with this decision is truely appreciated.

If you dont need top worry about driving on the road in 4wd, lock the front and rear with an Aussie for 500 bucks. Thats what I would have done if I had a D44. The only way I even know the Aussie is in the front in 2wd is I hear it clicking when I turn.

if funds are an issue, why not just do it right on one of the axles vs. going with something cheaper for both axles now. a selectable in the front or rear by ARB or OX. Still waiting on more research for the ected. lunchbox in the front is pretty popular in alaska for those budget minded folks, now do they drive in 4hi on the street, i don't know, but many are pushing aussie up here.
