Installing EBC Yellow / Centric Rotor combo - should I use brake quiet lube?

We're installing EBC Yellow pads and the Centric rotor combo.

We usually put disc brake quiet lube on when we change pads but wonder whether we should do that with the EBC Yellow pads or not.

Anybody know of a reason not to do that?

I guess at $120 a set for the pads I'm a little more cautious about things....

If you're talking about the rubbery stuff you put on the backs of pads to stop them from squealing, be careful and don't let it build up too high. The brake-in coating on the pads already makes them a tight fit.

That is exactly what I'm talking about...

Never wrenched my vehicles at all - until I got the jeep - so I want to make sure the rubbery stuff wouldn't interfer with the composition/break-in coating of the EBC pads themselves.

Thanks.
