Installed my Blue LEDs in my dash cluster...

Well I got the leds I ordered last week. I wanted to get rid of the old green lights in the dash...

Here is a link to LED Dash Mod @ my flickr acct

I have 29 pics there with a little write-up explaining each image. I think it turned out pretty nice. I may buy a set of bright white LED's and see if I like them better =) Or maybe Ill do some gauges white some blue.

I like the blue, I'll probably be doing that soon. Has anyone tried getting clear blue film and placing it over the odometer? I figure the green is probably close enough to the blue that with the film over it, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. If no one does it, I'll try it soon. I'll run with the blue odo before I change the rest.

It may be me, but I can't see your dials anymore so can you see where it actually pointing? I know on others they still looked orange, but I can't see yours.

I have blue LEDs too. The needles are not as bright anymore, one draw back that I don't like... it still is an awesome mod that I don't regret.

I think if you use the older style white needles, they will illuminate blue. I have an older cluster that I plan on using the needles from.

Ya, I was kind of suprised when I noticed the needles didnt really illuminate. Is it hard to replace the needles? And where can you get white needles for the cluster? I may also just buy the superbright white and see if that helps.

theres probably no easy way to get an LED to shine into the Needle is there.. so those of us with red needles could have a red LED shine into the Needle and still have the blue, green , etc whatever color like the backdrop. I have also thought about using theatre Light Gels and bright white LED's to Light the dash, the Gel would tint the parts of the panel i wanted to light a certain color and not others.. needles would be able to remain their native red that way..

The blue looks awesome but I'm glad I didnt do this mod as not being able to see the needle is a deal breaker for me.

I have the super white LED's and am extremely happy with them. I can post them up for the OP if he wants to see what they look like.

Just let me know.

Keep moving forward. But keep an eye on history, for if you don't, you are doomed to repeat it.

Could people that have done this mod post up the year of their jeep and if the dimming function of the dash lights still works. I want to do this, but when I drive on long trips in the country at night, I like to dim the dash lights so I can see more easily. Helps you avoid wildlife at night.
