I'm finally a Jeep owner

I bought a 2006 "X" model off the lot yesterday. It had about everything I want. I got it for about $2000 under invoice with Sirius thrown in. I'm happy. It will probably remain stock for a while. It can't go any higher as it would not be able to fit in the garage if that happened.

The 06's don't even have them...

I do need to put a hitch in the back though. Is it easier/cheaper to add a hitch to the stock bumper or buy a new bumper with a hitch on already?

Congrats! Buy a new bumper with a hitch built in so you don't lose more ground clearance dropping of those ledges.

I bought a 2inch Hidden Hitch for my '04 Wrangler and it was a piece of cake to install with the OEM bumper.
