Ok everyone To make a long story short a few months ago I was forced to pull out the cylinder and use a screwdriver to start the jeep. 98 Wrangler Tj 2.5. My kids had to get to school and the keys went missing. Well I noticed inside the cylinder housing where the cylinder core engages the ignition is a little inverted rectangle. inside that rectangle was a little brown piece of plastic that had a little spring behind it. Well while using the srew driver to start the jeep I broke that piece of plastic. First question is what is it? Second question do I need it? Third question I pondered how hard would it be to replace the ignition with a push button and kill switch. THoughts?
