If it's not my blower motor resistor, it's my what??? blower still doesn't turn on..

blower came on before only at high speed. checked the resistor and it was blown. went to radioshack got a new one and put it in. checked for continuity in the contacts and it was put in correctly. put it all back together and it still doesn't work

i can hear a clicking from somewhere in the glove box when i try to turn on the fan to high speed. so what is my next step?? can anyone offer any suggestions as to where i should go next? thanks in advance

yeah i got a new heat resistor at radioshack...cut the old one out...and put the new one in. it's rated for like 219 degrees c.

I doubt Radioshack sells the correct resistor.

I assume you're trying to do this:

That's what I did with mine. Never even considered trying to change out a resistor

cause it's not rated to the proper temperature? it should work until it blows tho, or atleast turn on for awhile. it didn't even do that, so i'm wondering if something else is the problem.

My 2000 TJ blower only worked on High-now dosen't even work on high-bought a resistor put it in checked all fuses and it still dosen't work? Please Help!

Checking it out with a simple test light will tell all.

If the resistor pack is good, could be the switch, the wiring harness, or.... the blower motor.
Most common is the switch to be burned up, along with some of the harness.

Do you know how I can get to the switch? do I have to take off the dash? eeek-don't know much about this kinda stuff

pull your dash apart, not hard just pops off and a few scrolls. pull out your fan/ac/climate control and look behind it and check the fan switch connector. most likely this is burned along with the switch.

you could pull the motor and jump it off the battery to see if it works . they do go bad . ask me how i know .

Hey there Zenash,

Its the switch module (the stuff behind the knobs you tun to control the cabin temp). I have an '01 Sahara which just started doing the same thing. At first I was afraid my AC stopped working but after jacking round with the knobs, the unit will intermittently work....indicating that the system works, just not the controls. The dash is very easy to take apart.
From memory, its roughly as follows.
Start by popping out the grid that the defrost air comes out of. This is only held in place by retention clips. Under that grid you will find (2?) screws that attach the top of your center dash. unscrew them AND DO NOT DROP THEM into your air duct

Next, remove your ash tray (open it and push down on the lever inside like you were removing it to empty it) Once it is out you will see a screw which also needs to be removed.
Now the center dash will pop off (pull from the top towards you)
Once thats off, the temp control unit only has two screws to un-do.
All set form there!

The old/new modules will unplug and connect easily in the rear
