ideas on a custom dash

Hey i need help on ideas for a dash. I have a 97 tj, and i am not feelin the stock dash. So i was wondering if anybody had any ideas, such as diamond plating or somewhere to get custom dash products for the tj's. THanks

I guess its funny because you are 19 yrs old and saying you want to do something that would probably cost a lot of money. I could be completely wrong though. Not too many people on the forum redo their entire dash board either.

Try the Street Jeep forum on this site. 'Streer Jeep Forum- dedicated to all those Jeep owners building Jeeps for street/show and not the trails.'
You won't find much info to help you here in the Tech Forum.

Simplest and easiest would be to do something with the center panel. Easy to remove. You could cover it with fake carbon sheet, you could paint it, cover it with ostrich hide, whatever you like.
You could get a dash trim kit - everything from brushed aluminum to colors to various woodgrains.
You could do gauge faces. Cheap and easy.

How about removing the entire dash and installing a YJ dash?

oh well that would be funny, i would like to make a custom dash but dont have the money, but just how much would it cost for a custom. I guess I am talking about the center or if the yj dash didnt cost that much.

dude the second most fugly thing about the YJ is the dash! Headlights first of course.

why do you want to do this? spend the money on something worthwhile... like me! then you can put a picture of my jeep on your dash with the new parts you bought me. See? win win!

I agree..years ago I did a CJ front clip on my YJ...though it looked real cool..and I don't mind the look of a built YJ...CJ,...ot TJ..for that matter....I think it was a waste of time, energy and most importantly money....I was also thinking of doing a flat dash conversion ( if I wanted my YJ to look like a CJ I should have bought a CJ).

Use you time, money and energy for other items...just my 2 cents

lol I guess the simplest kind of stuff to do would be
New dash lights
Smittybilt pitch and roll gauge
CB
Toggles n daystar dash tray

I dont know if thats the kind of stuff you want. I feel like the whole diamond plate is a poor idea.
