Im not Emailing you. But you could just shift down to a lower gear. Or just get used to it Or even better, spend a grand to regear.

Fast Jeep? Notta a chance. Even less so with the 4cyl. I should know, I got that same power plant under the hood on my 99TJ.

Asking a Jeep to be fast is like asking a brick to fly.

I have a 4 banger too and asking it to be faster is like asking a snale to beat a rabbit in a race. They just weren't meant to be speed demons.

fast and cheap don't go together. and those that think they do, well, they don't know what fast is.

your jeep is never going to be fast. sell it and buy a fast car. or build it and wheel it, jeeps were designed for optimal performance at 5mph, not 55.

none of the bolt on stuff provides enough difference to justify the high cost of it... regearing is the preferred method.

there are also turbo and supercharging kits available for the engine... but they will only get you to about the stock output of a 6 cyl, why bother? it would cost more to get the kit and install/tune it then it would to sell your jeep and buy a 6 cyl.

Nitrous!!!
Lol, my little 4cyl has 4.88s and it's still slow... Of course the 33x15.50 swampers don't help much, but oh well. It's kinda like pushing a brick through sand... It's just not going to go fast.
Ok, I just had to throw that analogy in there since everyone else was..

Put a spoilah and some phat rims on it and go tokyo drifting!

Sorry, I crack myself up.

Anyway, jeep and fast aren't usually used in the same sentence unless it's "My jeep is not very fast."

If you want a fast 4 banger-convertable you should sell it and look at other cars like the Solstice or Miata.

It's not cheap, but maybe you could drop a big block in if you want fast.
