It is 1 1/4 in stud with 1 1/4 in iner wall tub, greased inside no need for all that fancy bearing kits that hold thousands of pounds. 99% of the time it is closed only swings out to get into the back of the rig its not like the thing is spinning down the road.

So all it is, is a large 1 1/4 bolt with a piece of DOM tube around it and held down by a nut?

yes but notice the hard plastic washers top and bottom, very important to have and you just snug down the lock nut so it will move easy. It is off on the right side by about 1/8 in , I blame it on the beers and manual bender....

"custom" suspension lift
ZJ Coils

CV police interceptor coils

Skyjacker hydro's

Sway bar discos

Rear track bar bracket

Action shot

Took me about 6 hours to do entire lift, then about another hour to align it enough for now.
next weekend, some longer sway bar links will be made!

heres are my rough measurements:

left rear: 4"
right rear: 3.75"

left and right front: 3.25"

this is without the hardtop on and a half tank of gas. i expect the rear to settle a little bit more.
if not then i will be taking the ZJ spring isolator (adds .25") and will be placing it on the right rear spring.
I will also most likely put in 1" coil spacers for the front to level things out.

Not bad for under $450 for 3.5" of lift in Canada!

Looks like it is threaded, if you look closely to the rear of the bracket.

I made a great shade top for my Jeep

Hello,

We wanted to create a simple way for Jeepers to beat the heat from direct sun and stop the wind noise when driving on the interstate. The best part about this top is it never has to be removed, because we do not use the header all other tops fit right underneath. Here is what we came up with:

Check out these quick videos:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=n86t2oc47q0&fmt=18

http://youtube.com/watch?v=1ixft1zkIoM&fmt=18

If you add &fmt=18 To the end of youtube videos you can watch in High Quality. I am totally serious, you will thank me later.

It has a nut welded to the inside plate and it screws in to it to hold it in place very strong set up the screw in part also has a carter pin in it . The swing in plate is also sitting on a 1in riser welded to the bumper . the screw in hand part only holds it in place , the swing out is resting on the bumper .

I finally made a bracket to mount my solenoid box, and learned how to weld!

My cousin-in-law helped me make it. We tac welded it along the winch plate first, then cut the strip of metal in half, tac welded it right beside it, then I welded it together up the middle. Then just had to grind it down, round the corners and paint it and its good to go. Extremely strong, perfect with the box on there now. I can't wait to get to make some more things!
