Slick fire ext mount. good location on the electronics box. I would like to move the air intake and put a bigger ammo can tool box in that same place.

Thanks! It was the only place in the engine compartment that I wouldnt have had to drill holes, wires were easy to run to, and it mounted up perfectly. What more can you ask for!

thanks, i like it. this mount was more of a proof of concept prototype than a finished product. the next one will be easier to make. i am going to change the design to use an open ended / closed ended wrench for the center piece and use U channel bar for the part that mounts to the roll bar. that way there will be minimal welding, no plasma cutting, and hardly any grinding.

Recycle Bin Holder!!

Easy way to keep the stale beer smell out of the Jeep! it looks a little goofy on recycle day but that's only till the end of my long driveway, i hope... I haven't forgotten about it yet but i am sure it would be interesting once i hit the highway.

Rear Work Lights

So I had earlier on this thread posted my installing work lights on to my Jeep to a) give me lighting to the rear to accomplish miscellaneous tasks and b) have brighter lights when I'm in reverse. I wanted to be able to switch my lights to come on when I wanted to, switch them off, and switch them so that they only came on when I was in reverse. It took some drinking to figure it out and by my 4th Guiness I had drew out the schematic of how it would all work...I was also in need of a ride from the bar. This is a cleaned up version of how it works:

Reverse Lights Project by lumineferusother, on Flickr

I installed a relay in my right rear fender well. This is for the side of the switch that would only come on when I was in reverse. The coil side of the relay was wired into the right reverse light wire (Violet/Black). The switch side was wired to one side of the switch.

Relay for Rear Work Lights by lumineferusother, on Flickr

The trick to all of this was to wire the switch "backwards" i.e. the "INCOMING (+)" terminal was wired straight to the lights and the upper "OUTGOING (+)" terminal was joined with the lower "Outgoing (+)" terminal and spliced with a wire going to a position on my auxiliary fuse block fused with a 20A fuse.

My lights were mounted to my Rock Hard 4x4 Rock Rack. The result was pretty impressive:

Here's my total list of parts:

Pair of cheap Auto Zone lights
Automotive Relay
ON/OFF/ON Rocker Switch with Battery Icon (courtesy of OTRATTW)
14 guage wire (black and red)
10 guage wire (black and red)
A bunch of push-on terminals
2 spade terminals for my ground

All in all an approx. $40-50 project!

On board running water! I'll just post a link to my other thread:

Basically it's a pressurized Sceptre water can with a faucet on the lid.

I notched some 1 1/2" tubing to mate onto my Bestop tire carrier, welded it on. A tall piece up and a stubby piece down, then mounted my Fourtreks clamps and now I can hang my hi-lift on my tire carrier. (you could also just do the same thing without the clamps by just using nuts and bolts o nto the welded extensions, I just did not want to violate the structural integrity of the tire carrier tubes)

Revival of an untouched thread, just wanted to add this here as well as in the thread I made. I built this fire extinguisher mount to allow me to keep it right under my feet in the driver's seat at all times. Simple 1" steel bar bent, cut, and rivited to the quick-release Kidde mount and FA110 extinguisher.
