I noticed my carrier was wobbling a little too much for my liking. So, I made brackets to hold my tire carrier to the old carrier bolt holes on the tailgate. I dont use the gate at all so it wasnt a big deal to me to secure it.

OK this is my first real "Fab" job. Not much but I did it all with a hack saw, cordless drill, 4" vise and 5lb hammer. The brackets are 1/4" thick. 1/4" thick steel doesnt like to bend.

Whatcha think?

Paint it before it rusts, otherwise good idea.

Is it possible for you to bring your tire in closer to the frame of the swing out carrier? It looks like there is probably 6" of space there. If you don't use the Jerry Can holders then you might try that to reduce some bounce in the tire.

Why is there so much space down here?

Nah the tire mount isnt adjustable. It didnt wobble bad or anything maybe 1/4" at the top of the tire. I just didnt like that it wobbled at all. I was worried that over time the welds on the mount brackets might start to crack.

Im definitely going to paint them, that was my test fit. Ill also hack off a little more on the ends to make the lines straight.

i made this bumper a few days ago..payed to have the stinger bent tho.got a grille gaurd comeing next week to tie it all in real strong.
the bumper 3x4x1/8 tubeing is fully welded to a 1/4 inch thick winch plate that has to still be drilled for the winch.eventually it will all tie into some tube fenders gaurds and maybe a exo cage of some sort..

Body support and roller skates

Found bad cancer in the frame...needed to replace the frame but I don't have a shop here so I had to improvise at the house...don't ask about the economics of replacing a frame...it's still cheaper than replacing the Jeep.

Front skate

Just clear

It worked !!!

Body support works good

Stock frame from another TJ. Drove out to Collins Bros and picked up the replacment. Then, took it to Select-Motors in Pineville (Alexandria) Louisiana for acid dip, ecoat, and prime/paint. Should have it back first of next month.

While the frame is out, I'll take care of the few little rust areas on the tub bottom, finish my motor assembly, have the front and rear drives freshened up, then roll the new frame in and bolt her up.

Made a hardtop dolly

I followed the design/example of some other folks on the forum here, and fabbed up a simple dolly to keep my top tucked out of the way in my garage bay at the apartment. The only change I made is adding some inexpensive carpeting from Lowes to the arms and back where it makes contact with the cover.

Thoughts?
