just thought it would be a neat idea if someone could start a thread with only pics and info on home mods. write-ups wouldn't have to be included but a link to one would be nice if it is available. if someone likes the idea, start it up!
Ya its a Rock hard roll cage. You can not reverse the upper and lower bars.
I just have the lower bar up as far as it would go. They don't remove and viability.
finished putting on my new nolimits4x4 sliders and did a dakota steering box upgrade. i like the steering box skid and will be trying to create one this weekend. haha my rods keep sticking also, thats what the grinder is for
made a full steel door rack out of scrap 2x4's. It's 24" wide, base is 36" long, & uprights are 48". the supports were just eyeballed, & casters were leftover from a sttel rack I bought about 3 yrs ago. It's also stable enough to support a single door without toppling over. base is also designed so if moved, doors won't slide out & off. whole thing is screwed together with 3.5" outdoor woodscrews which ironically are torx head:rofl:
It was something in the link. I had to try a couple of times to get it to work.
That's a nice looking case. I broke down a few years ago and bought one something like it that holds the upper doors and windows, with cloth between each one. Works Great.

I finally got around to building an adapter, with the help of a friend, to mount my 5th JK wheel on the original tire carrier. Put new studs for the 5x5 pattern in a steel plate then bolted that to the carrier. I need to extend the rubber stoppers though to secure the tire better.
nothing as nice as you fab guys, but i made a license plate frame for my TJ...
I couldnt find one i liked, so i went to the parts store and bought the cheapest $4 metal frame I could find, a can of spray rubberized undercoat, and krylon fusion satin black.
sanded the paint off of the license plate frame, and laid it out in the sun. I like to spray anything with teh rubberized on hot days so it drys on contact and/or pretty quick. The farther away you spray it the better texture you get.
let it dry and painted it up to match.
