I already know I want a 4.0, manual tranny and the Dana 44. Are all TJ years mechanically the same? I will probably will be getting a '97 or '98 because I'm on a budget but I wanted to check with you guys first to see if there is anything to look out for. Thanks in advance.

Oops! Sorry guys, I just read the "New guy with questions" thread and realized it was pretty much what I just posted. I'll have to be more careful in the future.

if you're wanting a dana 44 like you should, you will need to be looking at 98's and newer. i don't believe dana 44s were offered in 97. because you want a manual, i would actually recommend going with a 2000+ as they came with NV3550 trannys instead of the AX-15. for more information on TJ's and things that you can do with them, visit my website at http://www.4x4xplor.com
