I just removed the "Dont Remove" torx from my AX-5

Thinking it was the fill port.
How deep of **** am I in?

its just another plug that is positioned lower than the regular fill plug, it hurts absolutely nothing to remove it, just dont use that hole to refill your trans because using that hole lowers the fluid capacity because of its position.

I thought I read somewhere that it keeps things aligned in there or something along those lines

After a brief period of searching through my history I found it.

All the way at the bottom:
"A final word of caution for those that don't follow directions too well(that means most of us guys). On the drivers side is another bolt that looks very similar to the fill plug located on the PASSENGER SIDE. If you start eye-balling that driver side bolt, and you get the urge to remove it, STOP and heed the advise stamped on the bolt - "DO NOT REMOVE". There is a reason for this. The bolt is used to keep the internals of your transmission in there proper alignment."
