i have a few questions......

Ok first qestion is does any one know how much the tranny and transfer case weights in a 00 TJ 4Banger 5 spm and how hard it is to changes the cluch ....


Next i have a buddy that has a 89 MJ and some one gave him a welded 8.8 would that be a good swap of him, he does a lot of street driving..

i am looking into putting 31s on my Jeep this summer do i need to do a gear change ( if so to what) with the 4 Banger.

and last i was wontdering if any one knew where i could find a cheap soft
top, i need hardwear and all

the only quesion i can really help u with is the gear change for the 31's.
im running 32's and i still have the stock gear ratio with no problems so i dont think its nescessary.

but if u did want to change the gearing, you would want 4.10 gearing

If you have a 4 cyl, you already have 4.10.

I have 31's with the 4 popper. I wouldn't want to go any bigger.
4.56 would be the best gear ratio for your jeep with 31's, but it's not worth it to regear so little, IMHO.

Now, if you decide to go to 33's then regear to 4.88 and that will get you back to where you want to be.

8.8 is a good axle, but welded up. it would have some bad habits on the street and chew through the tires quickly.

Check craigslist for a cheap/used soft top or new if your lucky. But your best bet is to get a replacement from Bestop. They make the factory tops and sell aftermerket replacements.

i have looked on there but all i have found is the top i need to hardwear for it too. all i have is the factory hard top nothing for the soft top.

Look on Quadratec. They sell tops and hardware.
I think it's the Supertop comes with all you need.
I will tell you that I can't recall, but one of them had alot of bad reviews, just don't know that it's the Supertop I speak of.
