so i put LED tail lights on my tj a few weeks back. the first week i had the fast blink thing going on until i foind the right relay (ep-27led) put that in and everything was fine. up until about three weeks ago, i was driving down the hwy and i changed lanes and signaled, i notice the blinkers kind of flickered and died out . so when i got home i checked everything out and pu the hazard lights on and nothing. they dont blink at all. the brake lights work and the running lights work when i have the headlights on. the hazards and blinkers do not work . i really do not want to take it to a shop not really in my budget right now. changed all the fuses that i could think of off hand as well as bought a new relay. also checked the wiring and even went as far as to change the blinker and headlight assembly on the column. still nothing. any help is greatly appreciate as my inspection and registration come up at the end of the month so i need a fix fast. thanks.

Did you check to see that there is voltage coming out of the relay when the blinkers are on? Could be that power isnt even reaching the relay.

Maybe you have bad grounds. I hope you remembered that the stock lights were grounded through the mounting points and for leds a seperate grounding wire is required.
If not, then chances are that you were driving a high current (although you wouln't get the fast blinking) from a half-arsed grounding job and could have burned out the relay (possability). Check fuses.

Go to Radio Shack (or equivalent) and buy a $15 Volt / Ohm meter. You can then test fuses for continuity and see if voltage is actually present where you want it. Sorry, but there was no reason to replace every fuse. One could still be blown and you'd not know it. The meter is the sure way to tell, not by eye.
I'd go with a bad relay or bad ground... the meter can help you find that. Good luck. Let us know when you find it.

yeah no go with the voltmeter. all the fuses are good and the relay seems to be good but i noticed its missing a pin that the stock one had. also, even with the original relay in that one doesnt work either. so it looks like i am either sending it off to a shop to get the 4" holes i cut repaired and the stock ones put back on or i am gonna have to find somone to do the work.either way it doesnt seem like its gonna be cheap. thanks for the help guys. if you can think of anything else let me know. once again thanks.

Careful, there is an "EP26" and an "EP26 LED". Getting just the standard EP26 would give the fast blink problem with LED tail lights.

ok finally got it fixed. and to my dismay it was my fault. so i got rear ended a while back and took the spare tire bracket off my jeep as well as the spare tire and third brake light. the third brake lights ground wire was causing a ground loop and not letting it blink. wow now do i feel dumb. my grand pa who has been a mechanic for 40+ years took one look at it and figured it out.
