Hydraulic throwout bearing to mechanical..

Long story short, we put a YJ AX15 into my friends 99 wrangler 4.0l. stupidly we used a used hydraulic throwout bearing that came with the ransmission (used in YJs, not TJs) and what do you know, it started leaking like mad. So I was wondering if I can use a TJ style slave cylinder, and throwout bearing and fork, in the YJ style AX15?

Why is it leaking? How can you tell? I would think just get a new TJ TO bearing?

No see, In YJ's, they did not use just a throwout bearing, fork and slave cylinder, they have an all in 1 Hydraulic throwout bearing that all mounts inside the bell housing, and are known for leaking, looks like this

and that thing mounts on the input shaft in the bellhousing, all you see is hoses going into the bellhousing to this thing. check out the info on them on novak. problem still stands, can I get rid of the problematic hydraulic throwout bearing, and use a TJ style fork and throwout bearing, or should I just get a new hydraulic throwout bearing, have they made them any better?

I would email Novak. I've gotten great customer support from them, and I didn't even buy anything! I would guess that as long as long as the AX-15 didn't change any between the TJs and YJs, you should be able to buy the TJ parts. I would go ahead and do that.

those pics definitly help, only problem is, I have no idea what the inside of the bellhousing for the jeep I have looks like...hmmm, gues ill e-mail novak
