hvac fans

It appears this is a major glitch in the tj jeeps from the other posts I've read. My issue started with it running louder on the fourth and third setting on the AC. It did this for a few weeks, then the fan stopped all together on all settings. It came on for a day then died again. Last night I tried the defroster and that did not work (they are diffent fans aren't they?). Where would you start on this, the control pannel?

Just found another post that might have my answer. Does this sound like a possibility? The AC fan is bad and it ended up frying the switch. Any thoughts are welcome. I just don't want to dive in this haphazardly.

7 screws and your climate control can be removed and you can inspect the switches for melting.

You only have 1 fan for the entire HVAC system, the blend door controls wether the air coming out is hot/cold/warm etc. If it doesn't turn on for A/C its not coming on for heat or defrost either. If you've read through the other posts its entirely possible your fan died altogether. Start by powering the fan directly and see if it turns on, if not its the fan, if it does your problem lies in the switch or resistor

Needs parts?
