huge coolant leak/ creamy coolant??

Noticed coolant leak only because the heat went out on my jeep. Popped the hood to check it last night and saw some of the orange mess but it wasnt that bad. Put coolant in it. It took almost an entire jug. Went for a 4 mile drive tonight and when i got back it was pouring out of my jeep by the bucket. This is what it looks like now. Please tell me its not a head gasket.

That would be bad one blown head gasket. Get a pressure tester and pump it up and look for leaks.

Wash it off, fill it again, probably with water since you are going to take it apart, start it and watch for the leak. That will be easy to find.

Looks like a mustard milkshake... Like Vosevichs said pull the dip stick and see what it looks like. Hard to say by the pictures because considering how much is sprayed on the fender the motor actually looks pretty clean. Are you running yellow antifreeze? If so sorry to say but it is probably a head gasket...

That Jeep ate too much mexican last night

sorry i couldn't resist!!!

Well i would say there is a great possibility of a dead head gasket. Follow what the fellow jeepers said and track down the leak ! Good luck!

found the problem tonight.. no leak in the head gasket thank god. it was simply a bad thermostat..it was blocking the coolant from flowing right and it was getting backed up actually overflowing out of the overflow jug..the fan was blowing it all over the place and thats what caused the massive mess..And the reason that it looks like that is because the radiator is in some serious need of a good douching..I flushed it 5 times and it still has rust running out of it..But regardless its 20 degrees outside so now that its running right again i think ill wait till it warms up a touch before i flush it completely out.

That's why I have all the under-hood drains routed back to mid frame (radiator over flow, washer bottle (added a drain) and A/C condensation drain). I don't like anything dripping under the engine...

11Bgixx, that looks like some seriously rusty water (no antifreeze/coolant) in there.

Yep i flushed every ounce of coolant out of it and ran water through it multiple times flushing the system and it came out rusty every time. Its getting better but its still a filthy mess.
