hp30 disco to non-disco conversion

I am going to be getting a hp30 dirt cheap from a friend of mine. The only problem is that its from an older cherokee and is vac disonnect. I need to know what I need to do to run this axle in my Tj.

I know that i need to block the vac motor asseble whole but what able axle seals? I heard that i need to run a 44 axle seal or something like that...anybody know? thanx.

You can get a kit from Warn that they include with their hub conversion kit that includes both the internal seal and external cover plate for the older vacuum disco axle. I'm not certain they sell that kit separately but it's worth a call to Warn's customer service.

The seal is a spicer 42500 and the backing plate you can make yourself if you have a piece of plate, a way to cut it, a grinder and a drill. When I bought mine it already had the conversion done but it will had the vacuum unit attached. I just made a plate and changed out the seals. Here's a good write-up
