? on how to replace rear outer axle seals in a Dana 44?

I have been reading alot of info and I need to know if I can do this job without a press, It's a 2004 Unlimited and I have turned a wrench or two, I have been told so much conflicting info. I believe it's the outer axle seals that are bad(fluid on the backing plates), I have also been give a small collection of conflicting part #s I thought a Dana 44 was a Dana 44. I could use some good info, so as to plan being able to do the job in one day. she's my DD, and trying to save on labor costs.

Need a press, new seal, AND a new set of bearings.

the bearings can be removed and reused, unless you wreck em getting them off... it's not exactly adviseable, but when you go through axles like candy, bearings are spendy.....

I use a bearing clamp and press, I couldn't even begin to tell how many I've gotten off without messing up, I can tell you I've ony ruined 1.

Depending on how many miles I would just replace them. You can get 2 bearings, two ring collars, two oil seals for less than 50$, all Timken Brand. Just ask for SET10, and you should be set.

I wouldnt dare reuse an old bearing, especially when the service manual tells your to drill a hole in the center of the collar, and hit with a cold chisel, then cut the old bearing off.

Go here, do what Stu reccomends and you will be ok. He had yet to let me down.
