How to prep dana 44 axles from a wagoneer, for a TJ?

I have a chance to buy a set of d44 axles out of a jeep wagoneer for 300.00. worth it? what mods will I have to do to put in a tj?

I can weld.... I will probably go look at them and hopefully find out what the gearing is. I suppose what I am asking is the width the same for a 97 tj, or should I just take measurments? thx
