How long does it take to install a lift?

About how long will it take me and a buddy to install a 4.5in RExpress Lift. Ive dropped trucks and bagged them and tore down and built up engines so I mechanically inclined and have a compressor and impact wrench and air tools. So about how many hours to do it me and a buddy?

I would say leave a weekend open. It might only take a few hours but it seems like there is always runs to the hardware store or whatnot when I'm wrenching. If this is your first TJ lift I would say around the 7 hour ballpark. But if you leave the whole weekend open and have it done on saturday you can go test it out on sunday. Sounds like you have the tools and skills.

12 JKR 2 door, MCE Gen III Flares, Teraflex 1.5" Perfomance Leveling kit, 35" MTRs, ARB bars front/rear, ARB diff covers, ARB Dual Compressor, AEV DOT-compliant beadlocks, Warn Zeon 8

97 TJ, MCE fenders and flares, heavily used and reliable on 35's.

I installed mine in less than 8 hrs without any help. You should easily do it in a day.

2007, 4 door, powered by a minivan engine, locked and riding on 35's.

If you have never don a TJ before, with the air tools to help, around 6-8. First one I did took right at 7, but that was with 2 trips to the auto parts store. Probably could do it in 4-5 now.

My buddy did his in 3, but 6-8 sounds like a good start on a TJ.

On what Jeep? If yours is rust-free and the hardware is easy to remove, it's a good long Summer afternoon. If you have rust issues and/or you snap some hardware (especially the rear upper shock mounts), it can take much longer.

took me 7 hours for my rc 4 inch flex including putting flex ends together messing with adjustable control arms and setting toe to drive home and couple 420 breaks

did all but pit man arm, adjusted front sway bars, rear sway bar links and brake lines and another hr or so next after noon in my garage with hand tools finishing everything but brake lines

i did it my work had air tools ect. all bolts spun free and im a mechanic and worked at a hvy/med duty spring shop for 7 years before where im at now, i did it by my self and didnt use any spring compressors and first time doing a tj

and that was after working a 8 hr day came home did a few other things then went back to work about time i headed back home i been up for over 24 hrs then went to bed for 4 hrs and get up and finished it

Start soaking anything that's rusty in some sort of penetrating oil about two days beforehand and you'll save yourself a headache or two. If you get stuck, crack open a cold one and apply liberal amounts of BFH. Repeat as needed.

If it's worth doing, then it's worth overdoing.
