How difficult to replace muffler 2003 2.4L

I need to replace my muffler, but am unsure as to the appropriate size of the inlet/outlet. How do I figure that out? Also, is this something that I can do myself or do I need to shell out money to a mechanic? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ben

you can pick up a flowmaster40 series for 50 bucks and clamp it on with a 5 dollar kit from autozone.

all you need is a sawzall to cut off the old one
